Best Husband, Best Weekend, Best Birthday!

So, my darling husband scored some major points this past weekend. He'd been talking about how much I was going to love my birthday present and how we couldn't wait to give it to me and so on and so forth.

Finally, on Thursday he talked me in to cleaning the house so that we wouldn't have to on Saturday. Then on Friday, I got home from work and Danny showed up with two full racks of ribs from 17th Street BBQ and kept slapping my hand when I tried to eat them. We just sat around the house watching lame-o Friday night prime time television (just FYI, the Ghost Whisperer is sucks. I don't care if its got Jennifer Love Hewitt in it) while I whined and complained about how I was all dressed up with no where to go because Danny the bum was too tired to go do anything. Then around 8:30 the dog barked and Danny opened the door where I found Lake, my nephew, knocking on the glass door and looking through to see whose house it was. I ran outside and picked him up and saw that not only were Kendee and Steve here, but Quinton and Kara had flown out, too! I was so excited! Appearantly, Danny had conviced all of them back in July to make a special trip out to see us for my birthday and they'd kept it a secret for 3 months!!!

So anyway, that night us girls hung out and talked for a little while the guys went 4-wheeling in the Hummer that Quinton had rented. The next morning we all got up and went to breakfast at Mary Lou's which was a HUGE hit.

Then we hit up the farmers market, then a quick stop at the mall to buy shorts for my pregnant sister because it was unseasonably hot that weekend.

Next, we drove down to Rendleman Orchards and picked up some apples, some cider and some peach salsa. We topped it off with an excellent nap, a non-violent game of Settlers, and a heavenly meal at Thai Taste. What a day!

Sunday we made breakfast, got Kendee and Steve packed to drive home, squeezed in another game of Settlers, and waved them off. The rest of the day we hung out with Quinton and Kara while we drove them around Carbondale and made some goodies.

We had a great time with Lake, even though he was a sassy buns because he wasn't feeling too well. But one thing is for sure, he loved the airmattress we had set up in the middle of the living room and he definitely loved letting Uncle Q toss him around on it.

It was an action packed weekend without any time to be bored or hungry. I couldn't believe what a thoughtful husband I had to make arrangements so far in advance to make it such a special birthday for me. He knows how much I miss my family and how unlikely it is for them to pass through Carbondale on their own free-will. He's the best!

Special thanks to Steve, Kendee and Lake Rowley and Quinton and Kara Jones. Especially Kendee and Kara who are both pregnant!

Happy Birthday Jacquee! We miss you guys so much!! I'm glad that you had such a wonderful weekend. I know that Kara and Quinton had been looking forward to it. And I am so happy to hear that you have a job that you love that's closer to home. You deserve it all!

P.S. Quinton is never playing with our child. Just kidding... In a few months, Stetson will think that is a blast!

Love the video of Lake and Q. Kind of embarrassing that my aching body is spread across your couch, guess I made myself @ home.
